Know Your Worth was launched in 2021 to help young people, especially girls, grow in self-esteem.
Based in Oxford, they run courses in schools, youth and community groups to help teenagers place greater value on themselves, and expect others to do the same. Young people are often struggling with low self-worth – often fuelled by social-media that encourages comparison. The effects of the pandemic also dented social-confidence and created added anxieties for young people.
By the time they reach 18, girls are twice as likely to experience mental health conditions than boys, which inevitably has strong links with conditions such as anxiety, eating disorders, self-harming and low mood.
Know Your Worth tackles topics such as emotions, relationships and consent, social media, resilience and hopes, empowering young people to build their self-awareness and self-esteem.
