Strength & Stem exists to empower female survivors of human trafficking through meaningful employment, life-giving community and skills training.
Women who manage to escape exploitation face numerous barriers to recovery and independence, including arduous legal/governmental processes, the inability to work for long periods, and a high likelihood of experiencing severe mental and physical health problems because of their trauma.
Based in London, Strength & Stem run holistic employability and skills training programmes that incorporate vocational floristry training, supplementary skills training, mentorship and work experience.
Floristry can be used therapeutically and socially, and as a practical tool for employment. Flowers also symbolise creativity, resilience and hope, and these are key values that Strength & Stem help to draw out and grow in the women that they work with.
